This is the wedding of “Handsome & Sweets”…
He’s a lawyer and she’s a mechanical engineer. She calls him “Handsome”, and he calls her “Sweets”.
Patricia and Andrew were referred to me for their gorgeous downtown Denver wedding by a mutual friend, and their hairstylist, Alex from Indie Six Salon.
They met at a mutual friend’s dinner party and had an intimate ceremony in Denver’s City Park. It was originally going to be in Denver’s Civic Center Park downtown, but that happened to be the weekend of the annual “People’s Fair”, which draws 100 thousand people for the weekend…whoops! It all turned out just fine since we were able to shoot at Union Station and the Byron Courthouse.
They got ready at the recently remodeled Crawford Hotel inside Denver’s historical Union Station. Patricia is a native to the Dominican Republic and make the most stunning Bride! Their First Look took place in the Cooper Lounge and the lighting was ahhhh-mazing. She was in tears as she came around the corner and saw Andrew waiting for her. They wanted to do something more fashionable and badass for their portraits, so we shot in and around the station and we are in love with the way they look at each other…
Our favorite part of the day was when Andrew interrupted the ceremony to pay tribute to his sweet mother. He told the story of when he was a young boy and his father would frequently take his mother’s hand and tell him, “You see this woman? This is your mother – isn’t she lovely?” He then turned to his bride to be and took her hand, presented her to the congregation and asked, “This is my Bride – isn’t she lovely?”…we couldn’t help but tear up at such a heartfelt and moving presentation!
