Lyndsey & Josh | Clocktower Wedding

Crazy story…

Lyndsey found me online as they live in Georgia and were planning their destination wedding here in Denver.   She loved my styled immediately and knew Josh would too.  They scheduled their engagement session for the week after Christmas when they would be here to finalize things for the wedding and a ski trip.  We planned to meet for hair & makeup at the studio and then head up to Sapphire Point for photos since they were staying in Breckenridge.

They arrived at the studio on the day of the shoot and were super sick…so much so that Josh couldn’t even come in and stayed in the car.  Lyndsey too was feeling it but we did the hair & makeup trial anyway.  I let them know we could still do the shoot over the next few days since my schedule was pretty open.  She called two days later saying they were headed home, cutting their trip short.  I let her know that I could always come to Georgia for their session, before or after their wedding, they could make another trip out here possibly, or we could just worry about it later.

Just wo weeks later, they came back to Colorado for the shoot!  I met them in Breckenridge and we had an incredible session!  It was January and an abnormally warm day, and the images we got are fantastic!

Three weeks after that was the wedding.  It was so much fun – it was like helping some really close friends, and didn’t feel like “work” at all (not that they ever do because I love shooting weddings, but this one just felt differently).  I did Lyndsey’s hair & makeup for both the engagement session and the wedding and OMG, she makes my work look good!

Can we talk about the cake for a minute?

It was designed and hand-drawn by Josh.  Lyndsey told me she had never seen him “draw hearts” or anything like that before (he tends to draw inspo from darker realms).  They searched high and low for someone who would copy his design exactly, and sure enough, they found Jennifer at Azucar.  She is incredibly talented (we worked together on a photo shoot a few years back), and she NAILED IT.  It really does look IDENTICAL to Josh’s drawing…that’s amazing.

One of my favorite shots was the very last one of the night – it’s a portrait of Josh in the top of the tower.  We call it the “Batman” portrait, and I’m sure you can see why.  We are nerds like that though…

See what Lyndsey had to say:

“Jewels is AMAZING! She did hair and makeup as well as all photography for our engagement shoot and wedding. The photos as well as the hair and makeup were perfect! We could not be happier with her work and have gotten countless compliments on our photos as well as people specifically commenting that we had a great photographer. She is also an awesome person and was truly an integral part of our wedding day. Everyone loved her. She is clearly an extremely talented professional and worth her weight in gold. She infuses style, attitude, and drama into her photos, making them unique and seemingly magical. We now have beautiful prints and an album to proudly display in our home for the rest of our lives. We give her our highest recommendation and having her as our photographer was the best decision we made out of everything we did for our wedding.

I am trilled with the experience, the images, and can easily call Lyndsey & Josh my friends.  I can’t wait to visit them in Georgia!  Sorry guys, you’re stuck with me forever #sorrynotsorry
