I absolutely love weddings and can’t wait to get married myself (would it be embarrassing to admit that I already have my next wedding dress hanging in my closet – don’t tell my boyfriend, ha!)! I especially love the intimacy and emotion behind weddings — how couples are surrounded by their best friends and families, everyone looks beautiful, and it’s always in a gorgeous setting – whether it’s in the city, our beloved Rocky Mountains, or on the beach in an exotic location.  This is why we love Denver wedding photography so much!

Colorado is definitely one of the best places to get married—with Rocky Mountain National Park being the 2nd most popular place for weddings and elopements in the country. Colorado is a self-solemnization state, meaning that you don’t need an officiant or witnesses to get married—you can “self-solemnize” and just say your vows to each other or celebrate your commitment however you see fit. You could also have a friend or family member do it – no ordainment required! I love how different and beautiful weddings are and I love getting to shoot ceremonies, elopements, and portraits in incredibly unique places. Contact us and I can send you a list of our favorite venues, both in Denver and all over the Rocky Mountains depending on what size and setting you have in mind!

There’s nothing like saying your vows on a mountaintop surrounded by breathtaking scenery. It’s not hard to get amazing photos in such a location! Whether you want to elope or have your wedding ceremony in the Colorado Rockies, the Grand Tetons, the mighty Sierras, or any other incredible range, we would love to bring our experience as a traveler and professional wedding photographer to your celebration and create some unforgettable imagery for you! Let’s chat about it!

I think the best weddings are full of spontaneity and adventure. Whatever kind of daring experience you imagine for getting to your ceremony location—whether it’s in a helicopter, up a 4WD accessible road, a backpacking camping trip, or a Venetian gondola—we love telling the whole story of adventurous wedding so you can share your grand adventure with everyone back home, or no matter where they are in the world.

It’s exciting to think about the idea of professing your love in some far off, exotic destination. I’ve had the travel bug my whole life, and after only visiting 19 countries so far, I’d say I’m just getting started! I have captured weddings for my couples in gorgeous destination locations in Costa Rica, Mexico, California wine country, the Dominican Republic, the Hawaiian North Shore, St. Petersburg Russia, and all around the best country on the planet – the good ole USA. I have a whole list of amazing destinations I have seen traveling that would be incredible photograph your wedding at. Let’s brainstorm your ideas and come up with something amazing for your destination wedding! I absolutely LOVE travel and am very experienced with the logistics (legal & otherwise) of destination weddings. Every wedding is an adventure and we love telling the stories of our amazing couple’s wedding days. Whether you plan on getting married in a National Park, or on a beach in Mexico, I’d love to photograph you with epic scenery as well as the precious little intimate moments. As an destination wedding photographer with a passport ready to go, I’m up for whatever exciting plans you have for your adventure!

It’s also very important to have the right person for your day who is prepared and experienced with all aspects of travel, as well as the complications of transporting gear and photographing weddings in other countries. It’s not for the faint of heart and sometimes can be quite challenging. The trade-off is totally worth it versus hiring someone there. I’ve heard horror stories of hired photographers on location and believe me, it’s worth the extra cost to take someone you love and can communicate with.

I hate having to say that we are LGBTQ friendly because love is love, and it shouldn’t matter! I love photographing unique couples of all backgrounds and gender preferences. Our goal is to create images that truly reflect your relationship, who you are as individuals, and for your friends and family to say, “Wow, that’s so ‘them’!”

Not only is Estes Park the most adorable little down ever, it’s the gateway to the world-renowned Rocky Mountain National Park, which is one of our most favorite places to go and shoot in the mountains. Less than an hour from major front-range cities, it is a perfect place for a Colorado mountain wedding. Our favorite venues are the Della Terra Mountain Chateau, The Stanley Hotel, the Black Canyon Inn, YMCA of the Rockies, and endless amazing places for intimate weddings and romantic elopements in Rocky Mountain National Park. Choose from gorgeous spots like a Sprague Lake, Lilly Lake, or a ceremony at Upper Beaver Meadows. RMNP has a whole list of designated ceremony sites, or if you’re eloping just the 2 of you, get in touch, and I’ll share our favorite secret spots that you can apply for a permit to share your vows and get some epic portraiture.

Did you know that it’s only $200 to get married in Rocky Mountain National Park? Check out their list of designated wedding sites and find your dream location for a mountain wedding among the many 14,000 ft. jaw-dropping peaks. Our favorite spots for mountain weddings in RMNP are Sprague Lake, Bear Lake, Lilly Lake, and Moraine Park. You can get married on the side of Trail Ridge Road, or hike up to Dream Lake or Emerald Lake, or down to Alberta Falls for a stunning mountain elopement location. No matter what you choose, it’s sure to inspire you – an adventure you’ll remember forever (especially if you have perfect photographs to cherish forever)

Down highway 66 about 30 minutes from Estes Park, lies Allenspark with two awesome wedding venues: Wild Basin Lodge and the castle-looking church, Our Lady of the Mountains, St. Malo’s Chapel on the Rock. It has the most amazing backdrop of Longs Peak and is surrounded by aspen groves!

We love the Winter Park area! It’s only 60 miles from Denver and has a plethora of amazing locations to have your wedding! Some of our favorites are Devil’s Thumb Ranch, Arapaho Valley Ranch, Snow Mountain Ranch, and Winter Park Resort. These all host amazing mountain weddings that your guests will never forget!

I believe the best venues for your mountain wedding in Vail are Piney River Ranch and the Vail Wedding Deck. If you want something really up-market there’s a plethora of amazing resorts like the Sonnenalp, The Four Seasons, and the Park Hyatt at Beaver Creek.

One of our favorite drives is up and over Cottonwood Pass at the Continental Divide. Coming down the other side into the valley where the town of Aspen sits is stunning, especially in the warm, golden afternoon sun. But the most epic wedding location of all is at Maroon Bells! One look of this place and your heart will swoon!

The San Juan mountains have some of the most amazing mountain towns in the whole state. We love them so much, this is where our family vacations every summer!  Telluride, Durango, and Ouray for spectacular mountain views and unique and secluded ceremony sites. One of the best locations, little known to most is called the Silver Jack Reservoir. It’s tucked in the mountains outside of Ouray and Montrose near the Black Canyon of the Gunnison and the Blue Mesa (it’s one of our secret spots).  Another favorite location to check out is The Great Sand Dunes National Park – it’s amazing!

Besides the venues near the popular mountain towns, there’s some fantastic gems in Bailey, Granby, Pine Lower Lake Ranch in Pine, the Silverthorne Pavillion in Silverthorne, and Dunton Hot Springs in Dolores.  One of our most favorite venues is the Blackstone Rivers Ranch in Idaho Springs!

If you’d rather have an urban adventure in the city, there are a lot of fantastic options in Denver and other front range cities. Great wedding venues in Denver include The Four Seasons, The Brown Palace, The Hyatt Regency, and the incredibly unique Clocktower Events. For something urban and industrial, we love Blanc and Moss DenverThe Hangar at Stanley Lake is close by in Aurora/Stapleton and the Studios at Overland Crossing are just south of Downtown.

Nestled in the foothills nearby are the stunning Chatfield Botanic Gardens, The Manor House, and Arrowhead Golf Club in Littleton. Crooked Willow Farms, Spruce Mountain Ranch, and the Flying Horse Ranch in Larkspur are only a short drive South from Denver. One of the newest venues is The Urban in Castle Rock.

Some of our favorite venues on the front range include Planet Bluegrass and Lyons Farmette in Lyons, Baldoria on the Water in Lakewood, the world’s most renowned concert venue, the incomparable Red Rocks Amphitheater, and the Garden of the Gods Club in Colorado Springs.

I have traveled to 19 countries, and photographed in most of them. There’s nothing that excites us more than photographing destination elopements & intimate weddings. I would be happy to offer any advice and expertise when it comes to the advantages of having a photographer who understands destination weddings and destination wedding photography and all the fun that goes along with it!
