Chariese & Clayton’s urban Denver Engagement session is as adorable as they are!
They were both fed up with “traditional” dating, so they both gave the Internet a try. The found each other and he cut her chicken on the first date (and ever since). On their second date, they just sat at the train station and talked. She always had some Fire Jolly Ranchers on her, so he always held his hand out for one. It seemed only fitting to shoot their Denver engagement session at the newly remodeled Union Station.
It was their story that stood out to me, and I knew we had to work together. Chariese, being a widow, wanted to signify and honor that. So she was planning on wearing a black wedding dress for the wedding ceremony, and changing to a white one for the reception – 2 wedding dresses? You had me at black…
Here are a couple of my favorites from their Engagement Session at Denver’s Union Station!
Brionne & Michael’s wedding at The Barn at Racoon Creek was anything but cheesy…
Every now and then, someone comes into my life who impresses me. For me, this is Brionne. She is incredibly creative, talented, and crafty, and I love that! Her style is rad and I admire her in so many ways. We have been friends for a handful of years and she always “got the looks that kill”…
I can’t tell you how excited I was when I found out she got engaged to Michael and they wanted me to shoot their wedding! She was going for something “Rustic but not played-out or cheesy, and it had to have a rock-n-roll vibe to it”…um, yes please!
This entire wedding was designed by Brionne. She made or modified almost every piece of decor you see. She meticulously put every piece together for a cohesive look that she was very specific about. From the dresses to the tables, and all the little details in between…I’d say she nailed it!
I interviewed and photographed the progress on her many wedding projects in the blog post here, so imagine how exciting it was to finally see it all come together on the wedding day!?

Check out some of my favorites from the wedding below (I admit there are a lot, but I just couldn’t narrow it down any further – there were just too many good ones!)…
Her dad John had tears in his eyes when he saw her…
I LOOOOOOOVE it when couples have unplugged weddings!!!
Brionne did an outrageous amount of work putting all these details together, including painting each centerpiece vase, chargers, hand stamping the burlap, and collecting things for the arrangements including dried and live flowers, feathers, and metallic accents (and that’s just for the tables!)
These paper flowers were hand-made by the Groom!
Brionne & Michael met at the Stampede and he danced his way into her heart…
“A fresh Bridal thought, for the individualist, the inspired, and the madly in love.”
“Emma & Grace is the dream-child of two ferociously passionate and unconventional women with 8 years of knowledge and experience in the bridal industry. With dresses curated from around the world and the ability to create custom dresses with our in-house designer, we assist in making wedding dress shopping lovely and stress free. A place for those of us who stand confidently outside of the mold. For those that live to dream and create. For the hopeless romantics and wild at heart. This is Emma & Grace!”
This studio is hands-down one of my most favorite bridal shops in town, and not just because we’re both located in the RiNo neighborhood (I love supporting other businesses in my ‘hood). Emma & Grace Bridal Studio is a gorgeous loft space located on the 2nd floor of the building. The light washes through there and illuminates everything they have to offer from dresses (of course!), to lingerie, bridal jewelry, belts & sashes, headpieces & veils, and mother’s gowns. They are a relatively large salon and can accommodate multiple appointments at once, even larger parties. In fact, I wish my studio were in THAT space!
They cater to the unique and even offer custom dresses, all you need is a drawing to get started! I have experienced this first-hand in that one of my most favorite clients had her dress made here. See what she has to say:
“Designed by bride and Mayra, the in-house designer at Emma and Grace. I wanted blush romance, in a tattered and time-tinged way. The gown went through so many different phases, at one point even being full of tattered ruffles starting at the hip. One day, Mayra dropped the top layer to the floor to make some adjustments to the bodice, and we all gasped. I yelled, “Don’t change a thing!” So we kept the ruffled layer asymmetrically at the knee and kept the lining layer exposed, and it added so much more glamour to the dress. If only I could have worn it longer!” See Shannon’s wedding photos featured here on RockNRollBride.com
“We can customize most of our designs. (depending on the materials). Pictures are helpful, and if you live locally it would be great to do this face to face. Just call and make an appointment with Terrie. All custom work will require a quote with a picture or drawing of what we of are creating before we begin.”
Their collections range from $1,500-$7,000 depending on the designer. “Emma & Grace carries a wide variety of well known and up-and-coming designers, some of which are just breaking into the US market. Our collection strays away from the traditional and towards the romantic, boho, indie and unique without losing the feel of a wedding gown.”

Today is Allison & Jeff’s One Year Anniversary (or VXVXV in Roman numerals)! Their urban Denver wedding was held at the Clock Tower in Downtown, and it couldn’t have been more beautiful!
The Groom – brutally handsome, The Bride – terminally pretty…the party was incredible and the the setting was perfectly glam. It shows in the photos and their album cover shot is even award-winning!
The story – the girls got ready at the Renaissance Hotel and the guys got ready at the Clock Tower. The guys then came over to the hotel (only a couple blocks away) for the First Look and the Bridal Party portraits. We loved the atmosphere, decor, and especially the lit bar! The best part is that the Renaissance Hotel used to be Colorado National Bank, so the bank vaults are still there (you better believe we took advantage of that)! We then made outer way over to the Clock Tower where the ceremony and reception were held.
We thought it only fitting to share their album design to celebrate their first year together – Happy Anniversary!
